An "All Sorts Post"- incl Planting ideas, and Potting mix vs Coconut fibre vs Sandy Loam

Posted before, but revisiting "Livingston Daisy"- a type of Mesembryanthem.

If one can't be bothered making a wooden wheel barrow, perhaps a series of hanging baskets. Will post again when they've grown. Only planted these out today from little punnets.

Of course another pallet option, large trays, to hang on a bicycle back tray, for a garden display.

Daughter upgraded the building mesh pot holder to elastic.

The 10mb/sec cable from the 90s' wasn't good enough. Wonder how long the elastic will last.

We call these plants "Geralton Wax", here, ran out of room in our garden, so have expanded into the neighbours. (With permission of course." This was a small pot plant, now almost as high as the tomato stack after six months.

With all the health warnings on potting mix bags, thought to try Coco-Nut fibre on the left. A higher germination rate than a premium potting mix.

Here, tried a sandy loam in the cell punnet tray, the cells were about 2 inches in diameter.
The person who owns the hand, stands over 6 ft tall, so a reasonable size plant.

Another view, with a little garden spade. Over the past year, would have spent $100 on premium potting mix with all the health warnings, so a sandy loam will be tried next time for cineraria.

Have been taking pictures of the water meter, pictures that include the GPS posn in the pictures info. Sure was handy when the excess water bill arrive. Was able to send a series of pictures that were taken each weekend, and the refund came the in the next few days, instead of the customary next billing cycle.

For our ANZAC day, sort of a Veterans Day, the hospital for Veterans in the area had these nicely knitted poppies. The staff said not to hang around waiting for the seeds.

Next time this hospital is visited, will put this origami bird next to the above pot, to make it look as if the bird is digging around for worms in the base.

Another use for pallets, a planter box for Succulents.

To make it, just a few lengths, had to hide to avoid being hit with the laser gun in the water pipe.

The pallet planter, with holes.

A prev plant out, didn't realise how quickly succulents grow.
