Hydroponic Matthiola stocks (Flowering Stocks)- a week by week update. ("Levkojen" in Germany.)

Last summer, I photographed hydroponic sunflowers each week, throughout winter I am photographing Matthiola stocks.

The first picture was taken about 15 years ago with a film camera.
As this plant won champion pot plant in flower, I am trying to grow the same 'Austral Stock'.

The first stumbling block was not being able to find the 1976 Australian flower of the year; "Austral stock".
With it getting late in the season, I had to settle on what was available - I hope they will be a 'doubles'

So far the system has lasted 20 years, and with no requirements for new potting mix, the hydroponic systems is low cost. The initial investment of $100, averages out to $5/year.
The flood and drain system consists of a fountain pump on a timer, buckets and scoria and grommets..
